Magic Pro-Ski Training Programme 2010
Time out well used is a huge investment for your future.
We have put together our 11 week ‘pro-ski training programme’ that we feel will give you the best advantages in pursuing a full time career as a ski instructor, give you the chance to earn good money during university holidays or simply for your own personal development and enjoyment.
Who Are We?
Magic was founded over 15 years ago and has been providing top quality snowsports instruction ever since. The school is renowned for its friendly, fun loving atmosphere along with its colourful international team. Magic has always been a popular choice with instructors looking to work in France whilst continuing with their qualifications. We are, also, in a unique position as the only international ski school with the prestigious training centre status in Meribel/Courchevel. This allows us to offer work to trainee instructors who are on the way to becoming fully qualified, including BASI level 3.
To work in France you need ‘The Test Technique’
This is a slalom based exam that is the entry requirement for anyone wanting to follow the French system of qualifications. It has also now become a requirement for any BASI or other international qualified instructor wishing to work in France that has not achieved the top qualification. Passing this test would open the door to taking another 2 week exam, which if passed, would give students the right to work as a trainee instructor. Through the BASI system, Level 3 ISIA and the test technique are required before the right to work is granted.
Why Choose this Course?
As a school we continually recruit and develop new team members. Our belief is that in order to gain the right to work in France, as quickly as possible, a solid base of technical skiing ability is essential. Obtaining the test technique allows students to follow numerous qualification routes, including the French system. This course would give students a real opportunity to be able to teach for Magic the following season. This makes it the shortest and therefore the cheapest option. Any other path would take a minimum of 2 seasons to achieve.
Language Module: One requirement of most internationally recognised ski instructor qualifications is a second language. This vastly increases the choice of qualifications and work opportunities that can be pursued. It also makes life a whole lot more fun when you can talk to the locals. For these reasons, we are providing French tuition with a strong emphasis on improving students’ French language skills in an enjoyable environment.
This course is aimed at anyone wanting to follow a career as a ski teacher in France or anyone looking to spend a season developing their technical skiing skills with a team of top coaches.
This is not just another “Gap Year” course but a genuine opportunity to take your first step to becoming the newest Magic team member.
