About Meribel

New to Meribel?

Here is a little information about the village where Magic gave their first ski lessons over 17 years ago.

Meribel is a pretty ski resort nestled in the Tarentaise area of the northern French Alps. At the heart of the Three Valleys a ski area that boasts to be the largest in the world with over 600kms of pistes.

If you are flying to Meribel then Chambery is the nearest airport followed by Grenoble, Lyon and Geneva. Between 2 to 3 hours transfer time.

If you are driving, a non-stop blast down the motorways will take you about 9 hours from Calais.

Alternatively you may be arriving on the Eurostar which stops at Moutiers, just 20 minutes on bus from Meribel.

Meribel really does have something for everyone, a great family resort, fun nightlife for those that like to party and just about all levels of skiers are catered for. For the bad weather days (although you really should be on the slopes as there is nothing like poor visability to work on your balance and technique) there is a 25m swimming pool, a gym, an ice rink, a cinema and more.

The Skiing (after all that's what it is all about)

Beginner's will find that Meribel is a great place to learn to ski, with a gentle nursury slope through the forest reserved especially for first timers (no maniacs speeding past), then you can progress onto the green slopes of the altiport.

There are plenty of blues and easy reds for the intermediate skier - from the nervous to the more competant.

As for advanced skiers with the 600km of runs in the Three Valleys there is plenty to keep you busy, from the beautiful Mont Vallon at the end of the Meribel valley to the far side of Val Thorens and down into the fourth valley of Orelle numerous black runs some with bumps some without or there are the "couloirs" accessible from the Saulire lift on the Courchevel side. If you are thinking of venturing off piste then don't forget to contact us to book your instructor (and make sure that your insurance covers you, not all do).
