Terms & conditions

The following are the conditions that apply to all client bookings.

1. Groups: A minimum of 3 people is required to run any group lesson. In the absence of sufficient bookings we will offer a choice of a refund or the equivalent price in private lessons.

2. Payment: Full payment is required within 3 days to confirm a booking. We cannot hold unconfirmed lessons after this delay. This can be made by Visa, MasterCard, Euro cheque, bank transfer, or if booked in resort in cash, in all cases prior to the lesson.

3. Cancellations: bookings cancelled with at least 60 days notice will be refunded 100%, thereafter bookings cancelled with at least 30 days notice will be refunded 50%, bookings cancelled with less than 30 days notice will not be refunded. In all cases where a full refund is not possible we will provide proof of cancellation/non-attendance for the purpose of insurance. Magic will not cancel lessons due to lift closures, weather or snow conditions apart from off piste lessons.

4. Group sizes: bookings in group lessons are limited to the numbers advertised. On arrival in resort we verify all clients' levels and harmonization of all groups is carried out during the first two days to ensure that each person is in the correct group for their level. Accordingly we reserve the right to alter group sizes if we feel a client’s ability is more suited to a group different to the one booked.

5. Insurance: Magic Academy and all of its instructors are covered by professional insurance. All clients are required to have their own insurance cover for the risks inherent in their participation in snowsports activities.

6. Off piste: All private lessons booked as off piste and all groups (adult and children) of level 3 (Silver) or greater may at some point during their lesson go into areas of the domain that are not groomed by the mountain piste services (and are therefore technically considered to be “Off piste”), whilst it is the responsibility of the instructor and Magic Academy to ensure that this is appropriate in each case, the client accepts the possibility of going off-piste when they book such lessons and shall ensure that he/she has insurance cover that covers off piste skiing/snowboarding in the company of a qualified guide/instructor.

7. Lift passes: they are not included in prices and need to be purchased separately.

8. Equipment: It is under the client's responsiblity to have a fitted equipment for snowsports activities.

9. Teaching and security: Our instructors and mountain guides are all self employed. They either hold a state recognised diploma or are qualified trainees. All are courses and lessons dependant on snow and weather conditions along with the physical and mental capacities of their clients. The ski instructor or mountain guide will use their professional judgement to make route and lesson choices.

10. The Clients responsibilty: It is the client's responsibility to have adaquate insurance for evacuation and assistance in the case of an accident on the pistes or in an off piste environment. The client can not use the schools, instructors or mountain guide professional insurance unless they have been proven responsible.

11. Litige: In the case of litige, our general Terms and Conditions are regulated exclusively under French Law.  Only courts that use french law will be competent
